Caitlin Clark made a pretty amazing gesture in an attempt to get WNBA players more money.
This season, Clark broke attendance records wherever she went and sold out arenas all around the country.
According to Indiana Fever president Allison Barber, Clark noticed the sold-out arenas on the road and asked the WNBA to pay her opponents a bonus so that they could share the wealth of all the new revenue coming in.
“When we would go to away games we would always sell out”
“She said we’re making all this new revenue and I would like the away team to benefit from that. Could they get a spot bonus?”
“The answer was no because of the collective bargaining agreement and the player’s association couldn’t do it.”
Caitlin Clark asked the WNBA to pay other players bonuses so that they could share in the success of the Fever selling out arenas.
The WNBA said no (because of the CBA), but that’s a super nice gesture, especially because she never discussed it publicly.pic.twitter.com/SZ15aeArWF

The current WNBA collective bargaining agreement with the players expires in 2027 but players have the option to opt out by Nov. 1 of this year, which would move the CBA’s expiration date to Oct. 31, 2025.
