Don’t get Caitlin Clark wrong, she loves being Caitlin Clark. However, there are times where that can be a lot more difficult than it sounds.

The 22-year-old occasionally (perhaps often?) longs for the ability to be a 22-year-old.

Clark, like most high-profile athletes and celebrities, lives a very different life than the rest of the world. She was unable to go anywhere in Iowa City without being swarmed by the masses or being approached by a fan who failed to recognize her personal space. That was especially true during her meteoric rise to superstardom over the last two years. That also remains true today, as we saw when the Indiana Fever flew through Dallas on a commercial flight prior to their first preseason game.

As a result of her massive fame, Clark prefers to keep things low key and doesn’t go out in public much.

Even though it comes with the territory, the constant attention can be exhausting. A new ESPN docuseries called ‘Full Court Press’ is set to drop this weekend. Produced by the awesome crew over at Omaha Productions, it offers unprecedented access to Clark, Kamilla Cardoso and Kiki Rice throughout their historic final season of college basketball.

A short clip from the the four-part series puts the Iowa superstar’s life into perspective. Her boyfriend, Connor McCaffrey, sees the toll that the fame takes on his significant other.

There is no normalcy for Caitlin Clark!

Clark then goes on to say that the hardest part of being Caitlin Clark is having to be “on” all the time. Even if a fan oversteps his or her boundaries, she has to be gracious and smile because that interaction is her only opportunity to make an impression on that person.

Clark’s is not alone in her feelings about “normalcy,” but it is interesting to hear her perspective on the topic. It is a dual-edged sword to be who she is. The ability to “turn off” is something she values greatly.

May this serve as a reminder to all of the Caitlin Clark fans out there to let her live her life in peace!
