Caitlin Clark is frustrated with the foul calls (or lack thereof) in the WNBA. The biggest superstar in league history would greatly appreciate some consistency with the officials and, once again, expressed displeasure with the referees after a loss to the Las Vegas Aces.

Her complaints continue to fall on deaf ears.

Clark finished with 16 points, six assists and three rebounds on Wednesday night. She and Aliyah Boston did not have their best game of the season. Indiana dropped just its third game since the Olympic break.

There were a lot of reasons to be disappointed with the result, but the Fever are still in great position to make the playoffs if they can stay hot. Only two things can get in their way: themselves, and the officials.

If Clark and Boston are cooking, they can hang with any team in the WNBA— unless the foul calls swing in favor of their opponents like they did in their most recent defeat. Indiana picked up 19 fouls to Las Vegas’ 14, which is a pretty big gap. Five fouls can make a huge difference.

Clark made it abundantly clear during postgame that she doesn’t understand why certain calls are going against her. Especially on the offensive end.

One such example took place during the fourth quarter. It was a six-point game at the time.

Clark was charged with an offensive foul after minor contact with Chelsea Gray on her way to the hoop. She was irate and rightfully so. The Aces’ guard completely flopped.

The whistle was unnecessary. Gray leaned into Clark just as much as Clark leaned into Gray. They should’ve been allowed to play through contact. The Fever would’ve had the numbers off of Clark’s miss while Gray stayed on the floor and could’ve cut the deficit to four.

Instead, momentum swung back in the other direction. Officials made a game-changing call in a key spot when they didn’t need to. These calls continue to impact the outcome and Caitlin Clark is sick of it!
