Caitlin Clark said prior to the 2023/24 women’s college basketball season that she would “treat this year like it is her last year.” It appears as though it will be.

Clark, who was a freshman during the pandemic, is set to graduate from Iowa in the spring. Every sign points toward her turning pro. She is expected to enter the WNBA Draft.

However, due to the blanket waiver of eligibility, Caitlin Clark could technically play a fifth year.

That seems unlikely. Especially after the WNBA Draft lottery on Sunday night.

The future of the Indiana Fever changed forever by winning the No. 1 overall pick for the second year in a row. Assuming that the sharp-shooting superstar does not return to the Hawkeyes, they will select Clark to play alongside Aliyah Boston.

Boston, a big out of South Carolina, won Rookie of the Year this past season. She and her soon-to-be teammate will make a deadly frontcourt/backcourt duo for years to come.

Clark is thrilled! The 21-year-old broke her silence on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after the pick was announced.

From Des Moines, Iowa, Clark is a big fan of the midwest and grew up rooting for Peyton Manning on the Indianapolis Colts. And based on her social media activity, she is either a fan of the Pacers or Tyrese Haliburton — who plays on the Pacers.

To go even one step further, Clark’s boyfriend accepted a job with the Pacers back in May. He is already in Indianapolis, which is also home to the Fever.

All of this goes to say that Clark is set to become the newest member of the Indiana Fever!

A team that won a WNBA title in 2012 and consistently made the playoffs from 2005 to 2016 has not been back since. They won 10 games just once between 2017 and 2022. Boston helped them go from five wins in 2022 to 13 wins in 2023. Clark is only going to take that team to the next level.
