Caitlin Clark has a major offer on the table, but it’s unclear if she’s interested.

Earlier this year, several WNBA players, including Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, announced they were starting up Unrivaled, a new women’s 3-on-3 league.

The league has promised players the highest average salary in pro female team sports history and an ownership stake in the league.

After signing a massive six-year deal with TBS that could be worth $100 million, Unrivaled is now getting aggressive in attempting to pursue Caitlin Clark.

According to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Unrivaled is offering Clark a “Lionel Messi-–like” deal, which includes $1 million for 3 months of play and an ownership stake.

Special players attract special contract offers—and compensation. The new Unrivaled women’s basketball league is considering a sweeping “Lionel Messi–like” offer to entice Caitlin Clark to play in the league’s inaugural season, sources tell Front Office Sports.

“With her stardom and broad appeal in mind, the start-up league is poised to offer Clark everything from a salary possibly exceeding $1 million for less than three months of work, to equity and revenue sharing, sources say.

ESPN’s Ryan Roucco revealed last month that Clark didn’t plan on playing basketball during the WNBA offseason.

“She said she almost definitely will not play basketball this offseason. So it is likely we will not see her play again until April. Not overseas, not 3-on-3, at least that’s her current plan.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Unrivaled’s latest offer changes Clark’s mind about not playing this offseason.
