Caitlin Clark hit the craziest shot of her career against Purdue on Wednesday night. It didn’t count.

Iowa’s superstar guard recorded 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against the Boilermakers. Her second-straight triple-double, and 15th overall, led the Hawkeyes to a 25-point win.

Clark almost had an opportunity for 30 points but a foul was called on the floor. What could have (and maybe should have?) been an ‘And-1’ from the logo essentially never happened.

It all came together with just under 10 seconds left in the second quarter. Clark got the ball just inside the half court line near the ‘KEADY COURT’ stamp and decided to just let one rip.

Purdue’s defender fouled her as she stepped into the shot. The shot — which was launched from logo range — went in. Because of course it did. That’s what Clark does!

Caitlin Clark was pumped until she wasn’t.

Unfortunately, the call was on the floor. Her shot was deemed to be after the whistle. It didn’t count.

Clark was livid. She thought that the foul occurred on the shot and she has a legitimate case!

The 21-year-old, who is slated to be the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft, pleaded her case to the officials. They did not overturn the decision. Clark’s coolest shot of her career never officially happened.

With a clear chip on her shoulder, Clark turned right back around and drew a foul while driving to the hoop on the next possession. She continued to talk her talk throughout the entire sequence and looked back at the referee multiple times with a look of disproval.

Caitlin Clark continues to be the greatest shooter in women’s college basketball history and carries herself with a swagger that goes under-appreciated. While she most certainly talks the talk, and isn’t afraid to give an opponent or official a piece of her mind, she walks the walk!
