A Cal student made himself extremely wealthy on Saturday morning when he drilled a 33-yard field goal live on ESPN’s ‘College GameDay‘ to send fans into a frenzy and win himself $100,000.

The student, known only as Daniel, told hosts Pat McAfee and Kirk Herbstreit that he played soccer in high school and had kicked a football before, but never from that distance or with any sort of pressure.

On the first attempt, that pressure showed as he had enough leg but drove the field goal attempt wide right. But the kick was close enough that Herbstreit suggested he get a second chance.

And on that second chance, he made no mistake…

Daniel drilled the 33-yarder on the second go-around and absolutely lost his mind, as did Herbstreit, McAfee and students in the crowd.

He became the second student this year to make McAfee’s 33-yard field goal challenge. The first was a student named Lucas at Texas A&M. Although he won only $25,000 and, like Daniel, made the kick on the second attempt.

‘College GameDay’s’ first trip to Cal has been nothing short of incredible, from Daniel’s kick to the signs, to Nick Saban stripping. It’s clear that Saturday’s episode will go down forever in the show’s storied history books.
