Alabama wide receiver Caleb Odom has opted to enter the transfer portal following the 2024 college football season. The pass catcher played in all 12 games during that freshman year, making one start against Mercer.
Odom hauled in seven catches for 65 yards while also contributing in a special teams role. He was expected to continue developing moving into his sophomore season with the Crimson Tide. Now, he’ll be headed elsewhere!
As a high school prospect, Odom was considered a five-star talent. He landed in Tuscaloosa as a tight end before making the move to wideout. The change might’ve aided in his inability to land a starting role, as did the emergence of fellow freshman Ryan Williams. He also didn’t do himself any favors in the locker room.
Following a loss to Tennessee, he was seen trashing quarterback Jalen Milroe on social media. Odom reshared a series of messages on X ripping Milroe’s decision making. The wide receiver wanted more targets!
Those targets won’t be coming from Milroe next season. About six weeks after airing those frustrations publicly, Odom’s chosen to move on.

Caleb Odom received interest from every notable program in the country while playing high school football. He’ll likely see plenty of attention following his freshman season at Alabama, too.
Interestingly enough, he wasn’t the only pass catcher to hit the portal on Sunday. Teammate Kendrick Law also opted to transfer after spending three seasons in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide signed two wide receivers in their most recent recruiting class. It could be an area of emphasis moving forward into the offseason.
