Caleb Williams, assuming that he chooses to turn pro after this season, will be the first-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Oklahoma-turned-USC quarterback is one of the best prospects in recent history and reminded a large number of scouts in attendance why that is during Saturday’s game against Colorado.
Williams made one of the most ridiculous throws of his career. It wasn’t a dime that he dropped into a bucket. It wasn’t a deep ball that landed perfectly into the out-stretched arms of his receiver.
Rather, the throw was pretty wide open.
However, for Williams to deliver the ball in the manner that he did was insane.
The Trojans had the ball on 3rd-and-4 from their own 29-yard-line. Williams took the snap and dropped back in the pocket.
The Buffaloes failed to get any pressure so he had all day to go through his progressions. Nobody was open at first.
To buy himself some more time, Williams rolled out to his left.
And then one of his pass-catchers got loose! Tahj Washington was unbelievably open.
As a righty, throwing back across his body is no easy task. Especially while on the move. It didn’t matter.
Williams threw a laser to the open man that went for six. His feet were not planted and he was throwing off of the wrong foot to begin with. He was also off-balance.
No problem. Williams fired a dart.

There are very few quarterbacks who could even attempt to throw the ball at such an angle, let alone complete a bullet for six. Insane.
Shortly after going 71 yards for a touchdown, Caleb Williams delivered another perfect throw for six more. he is the clear-cut No. 1 overall pick come April and continues to prove why he is deserving of the hype each and every week.
