The two sides battled for four quarters with no major issue. It wasn’t until after the final whistle that the situation escalated.

As players met on the field, emotions ran high. Video of the altercation is now circulating social media.

It is not immediately clear what sparked the fight. It does appear that two players got tangled up, which can be seen at the left of the screen.

Will Don Lugo and Montclair be punished?

It seems likely, though to this point, there has been no public announcement. Dana Becker of Sports Illustrated suggests suspensions could be incoming.

One thing is for sure, there will likely be suspensions for both moving forward…

Montclair is one of the 12 schools of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District, receiving the Golden Ribbon Award in 2017 and a silver medal for the U.S. News and World Report 2018 Best High Schools list…

The Conquistadors feature an enrollment of just under 1,400 with famous alumni such as Diana Taurasi, Leah O’Brien-Amico and Chad Cordero.

Montclair improved to 4-4 on the season with the win. It holds a 779th overall state ranking.

Don Lugo, meanwhile, is now 1-7. Each team will look to put the moment behind them as they move forward in the 2025 season.
