People in Iowa and beyond have rallied around the communities that were impacted by the devastating tornado that swept across the town of Greenfield on Tuesday, and the folks at Callaway have stepped up to assist a golfer who found himself in need of a new set of clubs as a result.

The region of the United States known as “Tornado Alley” has once again lived up to its name in 2024, as the area that covers approximately a dozen states latitudinally located between Texas and South Dakota has seen seven deadly twisters touch down since the start of the year.

On Tuesday, an EF3 tornado that hit Greenfield, Iowa (a town located around 60 miles west of Des Moines) claimed the lives of four people in a tragic natural disaster that local officials say “devastated a good portion of this town and community.”

News outlets quickly descended upon the scene to chronicle the aftermath and speak with residents who were in the midst of assessing the widespread damage. That includes WHO13, which spoke with Bradley Grebbie, a recent Nodaway Valley High School graduate (a former member of its golf team) whose family’s home was destroyed by the tornado.

Gebbie said he “lost a lot” but was particularly concerned with the set of golf clubs he said he’d managed to drop around $3,000 on before the twister struck. He used the interview as an opportunity to appeal to some brands who might be able to help him out, saying, “I’d like to shoutout Taylormade and Titleist and Callaway. I really need a new set. I lost it. I just love golf.”

It didn’t take very long for that interview to make the rounds online, and Callaway quickly stepped up by pledging to send him some new clubs as soon as it’s able to get his contact information.

You love to see it.
