Former MVP QB Cam Newton was involved in a physical altercation with a group at a recent youth football camp. Online videos now show members of that group trash talking the passer before the incident.
It’s not known what sparked the brawl, which occurred on Saturday at a 7-on-7 football event, but it’s said a training company called “Top Shelf Performance” was on the other end.
The incident sent immediate waves throughout the sports world, causing a number of NFL personalities to react – whether that be for the unfortunate scene itself or the stupidity of the group for targeting the 6-5, 250-pound signal caller.
“You are delusional if you thought some guys jumping him was going to faze him,” said RGIII. “Hat didn’t even move.”
Shannon Sharpe had a different type of response, saying that Newton should shut these camps down if he’s going to be disrespected for taking time out of his schedule to guide the next generation.

It wasn’t a good look for anyone involved, and many wondered if Cam Newton had been provoked by this TSP Group.
Now, video from earlier in the day shows a man that was reportedly part of the scuffle trash talking the quarterback beforehand.
“I’m going to say it, they can’t hide the film. That non-throwing a– Atlanta hero QB could not beat me,” a person identified as Top Shelf TJ is heard saying.

Whether that trash talk got back to Newton is unknown, but something caused tensions to boil over resulting in the ugly scene.
This is a bad look for the ‘TSP Crew.’
