Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy made quite the impression in the team’s season-opening win against the Baltimore Ravens last Thursday. The fastest man to ever run the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine scored two touchdowns, one through the ground and one on a pass from Patrick Mahomes.
Right now, there’s a lot of hype around Xavier Worthy, with some comparing him to former Chiefs speedster and current Dolphins superstar Tyreek Hill. But, at least one Bengals player is not buying it ahead of their crucial Week 2 matchup.
The Chiefs and Bengals will play on Sunday in a game that will be a matchup of the AFC Championship Games played during the 2021 and 2022 seasons that saw the two teams split those two games. While last year was a lost year for the Bengals due to ongoing injury issues for Joe Burrow last year. But, it remains one of the league’s best rivalries.
The Bengals will be looking to play much better than they did at home against the Patriots on Sunday, losing 16-10. Joe Burrow still doesn’t quite look himself, though he claims that his right wrist is not impact his throws. If they don’t play significantly better, they’ll be staring an 0-2 start right in the face
Part of the challenge for the Bengals will be slowing down Xavier Worthy. The former Texas Longhorn looked very dynamic against the Ravens, adding an element of pure speed that the Chiefs tried to unsuccessfully use Kadarius Toney for the last few years before finally cutting bait with him just prior to the regular season. The Chiefs’ first-rounder could have a huge year.
But, Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt is not impressed by Worthy.
#Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt on what #Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy brings to their offense: "Speed. That’s about it. He can run straight. Run jet sweeps and just run straight. He can’t do too much else, so that’s about it.”

Something tells me that Cam Taylor-Britt might be eating those words on Sunday.
