Miami quarterback Cam Ward continues to be one of the most electric playmakers in college football. He’s also one of the highest paid in terms of NIL.

This week, he flaunted that wealth with a gift to his offensive linemen. He wanted to thank the group for keeping him upright and allowing him to make pick apart opposing defenses.

Ward landed with the Hurricanes after spending the last two years at Washington State. He was considered one of the top signal callers on the market upon entering the transfer portal, and after a brief flirtation with the NFL Draft, he opted to sign with Mario Cristobal and Co.

It’s been a match made in heaven to this point. Miami has already bested its win total from last year as it jumped out to a 9-1 start. Though they fell in their most recent matchup to Georgia Tech, an ACC title and College Football Playoff appearance are still within reach.

Ward is largely to thank! He currently leads the nation in both passing yards and touchdowns. That production has come along with a nice payday. On3 Sports lists Cam Ward as the fifth-most valuable player in college football in terms of NIL at $2.1 million.

He generously used those riches this week to provide his new teammates with a gift. The passer gave his offensive linemen each custom diamond necklaces as a thanks for their protection. Francis Mauigoa posted the gesture to his Instagram story on Wednesday night.

The generosity wasn’t lost on teammates, who seemed excited to don the new jewelry. Each chain had the players’ individual number, so don’t be surprised if you see them on the sidelines following the Hurricanes’ bye week. Hopefully, it provides the linemen motivation to perform at the highest level when Miami takes on Wake Forest next week.
