Miami signal caller Cam Ward spent the 4th of July holiday training alongside Shedeur Sanders and others as he preps for his first year in South Florida.

The former Washington State Cougar called his old PAC 12 rival out, questioning his work ethic in that testy workout session.

The duo was spotted competing on the field as each look to improve upon stellar 2023 seasons.

Ward threw for 3,736 yards last year while setting a career-high with 25 touchdown passes. One of the nation’s top transfer options after deciding to leave Wazzu, he landed on the other end of the country with a pledge to “The U.”

Sanders, meanwhile, posted a 27:3 touchdown to interception ratio to provide the Buffaloes with a dangerous playmaker in the backfield.

The two went head-to-head in passing contests over the weekend with each looking to best their opponent in a friendly competition.

By day’s end, the friendliness had faded!

Cam Ward singled Shedeur Sanders out over a lack of work ethic.

He didn’t believe the Colorado quarterback was taking the workout as seriously as he should’ve been.

“I don’t think you got better today,” the Hurricane signal caller said, starting a back-and-forth with Sanders. “I got better… We throwing comebacks and you’re just lofting it… you’re not throwing it.”

The shade likely came from a place love with Ward wanting to hold Sanders accountable – though Ward’s dedication was also criticized due to an apparent late arrival to the training session.

The passers have trained together before this offseason, as Sanders made a trip down to the 305 earlier in the spring. Both are primed for big seasons with Cam Ward landing First-Team All-ACC preseason hype and Shedeur Sanders being touted as college football’s top passer.

Shedeur apparently didn’t live up to Ward’s expectation in this most recent performance, and he let him know it!
