Cameron Brink’s first season in the WNBA may be over, but the goddaughter of former NBA star Dell Curry (yes, Steph’s dad) is still staying in the limelight.

Brink, who was off to a solid start to her WNBA career, averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.1 steals per game, suffered a torn ACL in the June 18th game against the Connecticut Sun.

On Wednesday, Cameron Brink shared an update on her recovery with a video and a few pictures on Instagram.

“Chillin on the road to recovery,” Cameron wrote in the caption to the post. Thank you all for the well wishes. I’m feeling extremely encouraged, supported & ready to make small strides everyday. #delayednotdenied.”

The first photo shows Brink wearing a mask and a hairnet as she sits in a hospital bed waiting for surgery.

In the second frame, the 6-foot, 3-and-a-half-inch Sparks’ forward was obviously feeling no pain, talking all sorts of nonsense while on the medication she was most obviously was taking post-surgery.

“I been sleeping. I just been chilling,” Brink tells her dad and boyfriend Ben Felter. “I woke up and I’m so chill.

“I’ve been chilling, I’m in and out of dimensions. You could sit me here all day and I’m just relaxing.”

“What are you excited to watch tonight,” someone off-camera then asked Brink.

“Love Island,” Brink replied with a grin.

After some more garbled words, Cameron tells everyone in the room, “My eyes feel like you’re going this way and that way.”

The final shot in the social media post shows Cameron Brink’s legs with the left one being marked with an arrow pointing to her knee and the word “Yes.”

Cameron Brink was also back in the spotlight this week for a cover story and photo shoot she did for Flaunt magazine.

During her interview with the publication, Brink talked a little bit about what she had learned during the first few weeks of her first WNBA season.

“I think, especially this year, I’m learning how hard it is to win,” she said. “It is extremely hard. So every single game is going to be a battle.

“What I’m learning from the vets is that they show up every day with an amazing attitude and the willingness to help the rookies. It’s honestly inspirational for me just playing with these women who show up every day even when the days are hard.

“A lot of them are mothers. They have kids. This is how they support their families, so this is really important stuff, and I really just respect not just my teammates and my veterans, but the women and people across the league that really pour their everything into it.”
