It doesn’t seem like we’re going to get a Canelo Alvarez vs David Benavidez fight anytime soon.

On Thursday, while promoting his upcoming fight against John Ryder, Alvarez was interviewed by Fight Hub’s Marcos Villegas and talked about his plans for the future.

According to Canelo, he has eyes sight on a rematch against Dmitry Bivol down the road.

“The rematch with Bivol is my goal, we need to pass this fight and then start talking about that fight against Bivol’

When asked about a potential fight against David Benavidez if Benavidez beat Caleb Plant, Canelo poured cold water on that potential fight

“Every fight is good for me and the fans, my goal now is Bivol and then we’ll see, if the fight with Bivol don’t happen then we’ll see other things/

Alvarez is set to fight Ryder in will Mexico which will air live Saturday May 6, on DAZN and DAZN PPV in the U.S & Canada
