Canelo Alvarez wants big money from the Saudis if they want to make the Terence Crawford fight to happen.

Over the weekend, Saudi advisor Turki Alalshikh said that he had made an offer to Canelo to fight Crawford and was just waiting to hear back from the Mexican superstar.

“I gave Canelo an offer. If he’s smart, he’ll accept it.”

“If they accept, we want to see this fight.”

Ahead of his upcoming fight against Edgar Berlanga, Canelo was asked about Turki’s comments and reiterated that he had to be paid what he was worth if the Saudis wanted to make the fight happen.

Canelo: “Believe me I’m very intelligent, I’m not the one that wants the fight, if they want to pay me what I’m worth it, if not I don’t really need them”

ESPN reporter: “$100 million?”

Canelo: “I would need a little over $100 million”

Turki saw Canelo’s response and his since pulled his offer.

“Just wrapped up an important meeting now with my team, planning for the upcoming fights that we will make for 2024-2025. I decided to disregard the Canelo fight, as I don’t want it anymore.
“Instead, I will be focusing for the US market with bigger fights, especially for the legend Crawford.’
