Canelo Alvarez is going to get paid big money for his fight against Terence Crawford. On Saturday night, Alvarez will face off against Crawford in a fight that will take place in Allegiant Stadium and will air live on Netflix.
Ahead of the fight, there were rumors that Canelo had signed a massive $100 million deal to fight Crawford.
On Thursday, during the prefight press conference, Saudi backer Turki Alalshikh revealed that Canelo’s contract for the fight exceeds $100 million, which will break the record for the most money earned for a Mexican athlete in one night.
“You get the number wrong. That contract between us and Canelo is more than that,” Alalshikh said when asked about a $100m purse.
“Congrats, Canelo.” Crawford could be heard saying to Canelo at the press conference.

Alvarez made sure to thank Alalshikh and the Saudis for making the fight against Crawford a reality.
“At the beginning … I never had it in mind. But after a lot of talk, when they really came and offered me the fight … you can see how big it is…Two of the best fighters in this era fighting each other … We need to thank Riyadh Season, Turki Alalshikh, and Crown Prince Mohammed because they could have put this fight in Saudi Arabia but chose to put this fight here for the Mexican people. For the American people. I’m very grateful for that because you guys can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime fight.”
The main Canelo vs Crawford fight card on Netflix will go live at 9pm EST, with the main event expected to take place at 11pm.
