Carson Beck is receiving criticism for how he handled his first loss of the season in Miami. On Thursday, Miami suffered a major upset loss at the hands of Louisville after Beck threw four interceptions in the game, including a game-ending interception while in field goal range to tie the game.

During his postgame press conference, Beck initially took responsibility for the loss.
“There were times that I was a little too aggressive, and again it’s part of the game, but I have to protect the ball better, that can’t happen. That’s unacceptable…a lot of this mistakes didn’t have to happen”
Beck would later tell reporters that it was his wide receiver’s fault for the team’s game-ending interception.
“We had a perfect play, we had a miscommunication with the route, and what were doing. He ran the route wrong and I went to go throw it.”

Beck was ripped on social media over his answer.
“Whether the receiver ran the wrong route or not, this is not what a leader does. The last thing a good leader does is shame a teammate in public. This should have been a private conversation not a public statement. Some things don’t change.” commented one fan.
Emmanuel Acho also had some thoughts on Beck’s postgame comments.
C. Beck threw his teammate directly under the Bus. Sadly, this will happen more.
With laymen having access to game footage & inciting fan base hatred based on concepts they’re unsure of, players will get ahead of the online slander to protect themselves.pic.twitter.com/3GR0m9YVpR
