Iowa Women’s Basketball sensation Caitlin Clark is must-watch television. The senior guard has already broken the NCAA scoring record with plenty of games to spare, and can go for 40 points on any given night.
But, Thursday’s loss to #14 Indiana was not her best performance, to say the least. Caitlin Clark struggled mightily from the floor, and Iowa lost at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, 86-69.
The normally efficient Clark was anything but on Thursday. Clark was 8-26 for 24 points, including a dismal 3-16 from three-point range. As she goes, the Hawkeyes go, hence their blowout loss to the Hoosiers.
This is just a blip for Clark. In her last outing, she went for 50 against Michigan while breaking the all-time career scoring record to much fanfare. But, it’s Iowa’s second loss in the last three games, as they lost two Nebraska two Sundays ago.

That’s Indiana forward Yarden Garzon that is mucking it up with Clark. I’m not sure if that’s Indiana trying to get in her head, but if so, it worked. 8-26, is, obviously, very inefficient scoring.
The loss makes it very unlikely that Iowa will win the Big Ten Regular Season Title. They’re now two games back in the loss column of Ohio State, who beat Iowa earlier this year. The goal is a national championship, a goal the Hawkeyes fell one win short of last year. But, I’m sure they would like to win the Big Ten, too.
Caitlin Clark is next in action on Sunday in Carver-Hawkeye Arena against Illinois.
