Ever since the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, many NBA fans have wondered just what exactly The Black Mamba would be doing these days.

Everyone knows about his interest in making and producing shows and films like ESPN’s Detail and Dear Basketball, the latter of which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

He surely would still be working with the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation and his business Kobe Inc. He also had his venture capital firm, the Mamba Sports Academy, and numerous children’s books including The Wizarenard Series.

However, according to Charles Barkley, Kobe Bryant also might have felt the tug to try something else that fans would have absolutely loved: NBA analyst.

During his appearance on The Draymond Green Show Tuesday night, Barkley shared a secret Kobe Bryant story that he said would get him “in trouble.”

Kobe Bryant had signed with TNT to do what?!

“I’m not supposed to tell you this,” Barkley told Green. “We actually hired Kobe Bryant at Turner. But he didn’t wanna do all the other bullsh-t. I’m probably going to get in trouble for saying this, but it’s one of the little things we keep under. So, he actually signed with us.”

First off, can you imagine Kobe AND Shaq giving NBA analysis in the same studio with Charles Barkley?! Talk about a ratings grabber.

Sadly, it will never happen now. Then again, according to Barkley, it may not have happened even if Bryant hadn’t passed away.

“But when we started I told him I had to do a bunch or radio shows,” Barkley told Green. “I’d go on this show on Monday… from Thursday night on TNT, same thing on Tuesday, same thing on Wednesday, same thing on Thursday. He was like, ‘Yeah I don’t want to do all that stuff.’ I said, ‘You have to promote the show, Kobe.’

“So actually… it’s so funny, there’s probably only 10 people in the world know that. That he actually signed with us and was like, ‘Nah, I’m not doing all that other bullsh-t.”

Draymond Green, like all of us, was like, “Hold on. So Kobe signed and he was gonna be on, like, just one of the guys on the Thursday night crew?”

“Yeah,” Barkley responded.

“Wow,” replied Green.

Wow, indeed.
