So, did you get to see the total solar eclipse on Monday? Was it everything it you hoped it would be? Millions of people seemed to like it. Charles Barkley, however, was not one of them.
During TNT’s halftime coverage of the men’s college basketball national championship game between the UConn Huskies and the Purdue Boilermakers, Barkley made his thoughts (as usual) very clear on all of the hype surrounding the eclipse.
“Were ya’ll some of them losers standing outside watching today?” Charles Barkley asked the TNT crew, referring to the total solar eclipse that passed over most of the country.
“They are not losers,” Ernie Johnson jumped in, defending almost everyone in America.
“Yes they are. Hey, we have all seen darkness before,” Charles shot back. “Stop it.”
“Not in the daylight,” Kenny Smith responded.
“Come on Chuckster. Don’t hate on the eclipse!” Johnson added. “So you’re not a fan?”
“I’m not going to sit outside like an idiot and wait on the darkness,” Barkley replied. “It’s gonna be dark when we go outside tonight.”
“This was a very worthwhile segment,” Ernie jokingly closed the conversation out before sending it to a commercial break.

Hey, at least Chuck didn’t have to be worried about being one of those people who claimed the eclipse made them sick and/or lose sleep.
And yes, Charles Barkley, really did have his own Goodyear blimp flying around on Monday at the national championship game in Phoenix.
There's an actual Charles Barkley blimp from Capital One.

Chuck wasn’t a complete curmudgeon Monday night, however.
Following Purdue’s heartbreaking loss to UConn, Barkley made a special effort to shake every player’s hand on the Boilermakers’ squad.

Well, everyone except for the poor ginger big man who was left hanging like Tom Brady on the sidelines of a New England Patriots game.
