Let’s gooooo, Chuck! That’s exactly the type of news you just love to see on a fine Monday Tuesday morning, really gets the week off on the right foot.

That’s right, according to NBA legend and current Inside The NBA broadcaster Charles Barkley, he is “100% sure” that the 2019-20 NBA season will resume this summer.

While appearing on ESPN’s The Paul Finebaum Show, Barkley said that — citing his bosses at Turner — that a decision is going to be made in the coming weeks and that he’s 100% the league will elect to resume play.

“We’re gonna make a decision in the next week,” Barkley said. “I’m 100 percent sure we’re going to play. I know my friends in Major League Baseball are going to play. I think that the hockey league is going to play.

“I think the pro football and the college football, they have to sit back and see how it goes for us. I do know this, talking to my bosses at Turner. We’re going to play basketball. It’s gonna be in Florida and (Las) Vegas, or just Florida.” [via Yahoo Sports]

With various sports leagues around the world beginning to resume play in recent weeks — the German Bundesliga is set to begin its third round of matches this week, while England’s Premier League, Spain’s La Liga, and Italy’s Serie A are all set to return in June — is should come as no surprise that the resumption of the NBA season is currently trending in a positive direction.
