The Ohio State-Michigan produced another fantastic chapter of its history last weekend when Michigan pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the history of the rivalry. The hatred between the two rivals was very much on display after the game when the two teams clashed at midfield following the game.
On Sunday, the rivalry took another turn. Chase Herbstreit, a high school senior quarterback and son of ESPN analyst and Ohio State alum Kirk Herbstreit, committed to Michigan.

Herbstreit, who is the quarterback at famed Cincinnati-area program St. Xavier, is a three-star prospect ranked as the 128th-best quarterback in the country.
This year, Herbstreit completed 54% of his passes for 18 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for his team, which went 10-4.
Of course, Herbstreit isn’t the highlight of the Michigan recruiting class at his position. That would be Bryce Underwood. The Michigan native and number-one overall recruit in America. Michigan flipped him from LSU late in the process thanks what’s reported to be a huge NIL offer.
Presumably, Chase grew up a huge Buckeye fan, as both his father and his grandfather were Ohio State football alums. So, this came as a pretty big shock to many. Perhaps this is just Sherrone Moore and Michigan trolling Ohio State?
We’re just trolling OSU at this point lol

For now, it’s just another blow to Ohio State’s morale at the hands of Michigan. While Herbstreit isn’t a can’t-miss recruit by any means, it feels bad that one of your most famous alum’s kids wants to go to Michigan.
Chase is the youngest of four sons. The two of the others played at Clemson, while the other walked on at Ohio State.
The Buckeyes will take on Tennessee on December 21 at home in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
