Chase Young has not quite lived up to his billing during his first three year in the NFL. However, he is looking bigger and stronger then ever as the 2024 season quickly approaches with a new team.

Commanders fans are not convinced that it will matter!

The former No. 2 overall pick burst onto the scene as Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020. Young made 44 tackles, 32 solo, with 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. It was a dominant entrance to the league.

Unfortunately, in large part due to injury, Young has not been able to replicate that initial success. His numbers — including games played — were essentially cut in half in 2021 because of a torn ACL and patellar tendon. That also kept him out for most of the 2022 NFL season.

Young split time between Washington and San Francisco in 2023. He finished with 25 total tackles and 7.5 sacks in 16 games. It was a big improvement during his first year back at relatively full health.

Now, after signing with New Orleans during the offseason, there is a lot of hype about his ability to anchor the defense alongside Cam Jordan. The one-two punch at defensive end could be vicious!

Young hit the team facility on Friday morning and looked like an absolute monster.

However, Commanders fans hope that Saints fans will heed their warning. They have seen the freakish offseason workout photos before — even as recently as a year ago.

Washington fans were quick to let them know on X.

“Warning Saints fans. We got these awesome offseason workout clips and images every year. Sincerely, Commanders fans.” — @KevinthePRF1

“lol yall goin learn quickly not to fall for the physique” — @Walkin0n808s

“Saints fans the offseason pic is the best it gets unfortunately” — @blast703

“No one owns the pre-season social media hype photoshoot like Chase Young” — @magnusfloof77

Haters are going to hate. Especially those who had high hopes for a player who let them down.

However, Young is now two(ish) years removed from a severe knee injury and a few month removed from surgery on his neck. It takes time to work back to form. It takes time to get back to full strength.

The 49ers were glad to have Young for their Super Bowl run last year. He was not a liability!

If Chase Young can translate his current physical form to his play, LOOK OUT….

Is the former DROY back to form? We will see in just a few short months.
