Caitlin Clark is definitely the biggest story in the WNBA currently. Naturally, the internet went up in flames on Saturday when she was hit with a cheap shot by Chicago Sun guard Chennedy Carter.

Carter’s act drew widespread consternation from around the internet and basketball ecosphere. But, that didn’t stop her from doubling down on her actions postgame.

First, let’s get to the foul. It occurred Saturday as Clark’s Indiana Fever took on Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky in the first matchup between the two college rivals. Here’s the foul.

Yeah, that’s a cheap shot. Caitlin Clark was talking a lot of trash to Carter prior to the incident, but that’s still uncalled for. I get teams wanting to be physical with Caitlin Clark, because it’s working.  The rookie, who many thought would be the best player in the WNBA from the start, has been inefficient so far, shooting just 37% from the floor in her first ten games. But, that was clearly over the line.

After the game, Carter didn’t seem to show much remorse in the press conference.

And, when she had time to get on social media, she doubled down again!

Caitlin Clark struggled mightily again. Clark was 4-11 for just 11 points. But, the Fever actually got their second win of the season, 71-70, after Sky guard Marina Mabrey missed her first of two free throws with the Sky down two in the final seconds,

But, the story is Chennedy Carter’s cheap shot on Caitlin Clark.
