ESPN released a teaser trailer for the upcoming documentary titled The Last Dance, which investigates Michael Jordan’s final season with the Chicago Bulls. The teaser looks amazing, but everyone on Twitter wanted to know why Carmen Electra is in the sports doc.
The 10-part documentary series gives you insider insight and access to the Bulls during the 1997-1998 season, the last that MJ played in Chicago. The documentary has interviews with numerous Bulls players that were on the team, including His Airness himself, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Steve Kerr. Plus Bulls coach Phil Jackson.
There are also interviews with NBA players Kobe Bryant, Charles Barkley, and commissioner Adam Silver. There are also interviews with non-sports figures, including President Barack Obama, Justin Timberlake, and Carmen Electra.
The internet was shook when they saw Carmen Electra in the Bulls doc, so much so that “Carmen Electra” was a trending topic on Twitter on Tuesday.
Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra got married on November 14, 1998, but eventually annulled their marriage.
People were also trying to figure out why Justin Timberlake was featured in the Bulls documentary. Many pointed out that Timberlake was a minority owner of the Memphis Grizzlies and had a shoe deal with the Jordan brand.
The Last Dance is directed by Jason Hehir, who directed the 30 for 30 documentary on the 1985 Chicago Bears and the HBO doc about Andre the Giant. The Last Dance is set to be released in June.
