It appears the Raiders moving from Oakland to Las Vegas hurt the team’s home-field advantage.
Before Saturday’s Chiefs-Raiders game, Jason Cole of Outkick.com reported that Raiders owner Mark Davis was embarrassed by fan turnout in Las Vegas after the team’s move.
“[There is] belief among many that Raiders owner Mark Davis is growing increasingly impatient in his effort to rebuild the legacy of the team his Hall of Fame father built into a champion,” “Moreover, Davis’ angst is growing. Allegiant Stadium continues to be more of a friendly home for visiting fans than the great home-field it was for years in Oakland.”
“Mark is embarrassed,” a former Raiders executive told Cole. “He was pissed last year when the Chiefs and Bears brought so many fans to town. Now it’s happening every week.”
Hours after Cole’s report, Kansas City Chiefs fans took over Allegiant stadium and basically made it a home game for their team.
Almost 3 hours before the game and already Chiefs fans have started to gather behind their bench and above their tunnel.
I got an email this week from a ticket broker saying more than half of the tickets for this game are in the hands of Chiefs fans. pic.twitter.com/A9qZDGqXBT

The #LasVegas tourism industry must love it when the @Raiders are not contenders and visiting team fans can snap up tix from locals. This almost looks like a home game for @Chiefs #NFL pic.twitter.com/G8Z5RwHseJ

Raiders fans ripped into Mark Davis for moving the team out of Oakland.
It's shocking that this could happen when you move your team from its longtime home with a loyal fanbase to a city of transplants and tourists https://t.co/Yuijiks0KE

This was heavily predicted as soon as they announced moving to Vegas. It's the ultimate destination trip for opposing fans. https://t.co/5XJZxFDO4X

Las Vegas is 558 miles from Oakland. That's like the Chiefs moving to Cincinnati.
Also, his team stinks. https://t.co/090N79LXzN

Welp. When you move your team to a weekend destination where people come to play and spend money and leave your real fans back home in Oakland and LA, what would you expect to happen? https://t.co/lVdaslAdFn
