Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker got an invite to the White House before the Philadelphia Eagles despite barely playing in a loss during the Super Bowl. Last week, the Eagles found themselves at the center of controversy when it was reported that several members of the team would turn down a White House invite from Trump.

Eventually, Eagles sources told Ian Rapoport that the team would accept an invite, and President Trump promised to host the team because he felt they deserved the honor after beating the Chiefs.

“I thought it was a great performance. They will absolutely be invited. They deserve to be down here, and we hope to see them.”

While Trump has yet to extend an invite to the Eagles, he did have Butker swing by to visit the Oval Office.

During the election, the pro-life Butker endorsed Trump for President.

“I’m supporting the president that’s going to be the most pro-life president, and I think Donald Trump is the most pro-life president,” Butker told Fox News in October. “That’s a topic that is the most crucial topic for me. I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn, and that’s what we should prioritize.”
