Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones was not drinking vodka or tequila on the sideline. That is against NFL rules.
And yet, we somehow live in a world where people genuinely think unc was sipping on some sheesh.
In the off chance that one of the best defensive players in the NFL was actually drinking alcohol, it would likely mark the end of his career. The league would not stand for that kind of behavior. Period.
What was Chris Jones drinking?
Great question. I do not know the exact answer.
CBS cut to the sideline at the end of the fourth quarter after the Kansas City Chiefs had effectively put the game away. Andy Reid decided to rest his starters. Jones’ day was over. He was straight chilling.
In his hand was some kind of drink that closely resembled a bottle of liquor.

It appears to be some kind of clear liquid in a glass bottle. Probably water. Maybe some kind of electrolyte concoction. Doesn’t matter.
What I do know is that Chris Jones was not drinking Ketel One, Tito’s or Casamigos.
The Kansas City Chiefs would be punished by the NFL for consuming alcohol on the sideline.
The NFL strictly prohibits the use of alcohol (and tobacco products) on the playing field, during the game, or in any area where players are visible to the public or to the media. Penalties include fines and suspensions.
There is a zero percent chance the Kansas City Chiefs allowed one of their star players to openly sit on the bench with a bottle of booze. Zero. They would be punished accordingly. That would be dumb.
And yet, we have accounts like MLFootball, Sportskeeda and Dov Kleiman actively posting otherwise. And people actually believe them. It hurts my brain.
CBS just so happened to catch Chris Jones with an unusual bottle in his hand. He was not drinking alcohol.
