Longtime sports radio host Chris “Mad Dog” Russo has really stepped in it this time as he, once again, is reneging on his Diamondbacks World Series bet.

For those just getting caught up, during the National League Championship Series, Russo promised to retire if Arizona beat the Philadelphia Phillies and made it to the World Series.

“Write it down,” he said on the air. “If they win the next two games and win this series in seven games, I will retire on the spot.”

The Diamondbacks, as we all now know, DID win those two games, and Russo did NOT retire on the spot.

As an alternative punishment, it was suggested to Russo during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show that “Mad Dog” wear a Diamondbacks bikini while out in public.

“How bout this, You come on my show, I’ll come into Manhattan for this, we put you in a bikini and you walk down the street with a sign that says, ‘I’m a d—-,'” Howard Stern told him.

“If you do that…it will make all the media and everyone say, ‘Wow, this guy was standup, he took it, obviously he couldn’t retire, but he was humiliated.’”

“The deal is done,” Russo responded.

Fast forward another week and, nope, Russo isn’t doing it.

“My listeners are furious with Mad Dog for pulling out his obligation to make good on a walk of shame punishment,” Stern said on his show.

“Listen, I’m out of this Mad Dog thing. I don’t want to be involved in it anymore. I offered him a solution.”

Stern continued, after laughing about his listeners now referring to the sports talker as Chris “Mad Fraud” Russo, “I’m really fond of the guy, but he really f—– up. I’m out of it. I don’t care. He can do whatever he wants. Let him deal with it.”

Based on a recent episode of First Take, it sounds like we have Stephen A. Smith to thank (literally and sarcastically) for Russo backing out on his pledge once again.
