CBS tried to soften the blow of there not being an NCAA Tournament this year by airing a few of the greatest games in tournament history over the weekend. The network played three classics on Saturday afternoon and the 1992 Duke – Kentucky game was one of them.
With most people practicing social distancing and quarantining at home, it’s safe to say that plenty of folks watched the replay of the game. After all, it’s one of the greatest college basketball games of all-time, regardless of your fandom.
One family of Kentucky fans decided to sit down and watch the game and give their two young sons a bit of a history lesson about Wildcats hoops. The two little dudes had never witnessed Christian Laettner ripping out the hearts of Big Blue Nation that day, but they got to experience the brutal moment over the weekend and hated every second of it.

I’m not a Kentucky fan, but I really don’t think anyone can call themselves a legitimate UK fan if they’ve never sat down and watched that game, regardless of age. You can see the sadness and anger build up in the youngest boy as his mind enters a state of pure disbelief before launching the pillow across the room.
It’s incredible that Laettner continues to own a spot in every Kentucky fan’s brain after all these years.
