Despite superstar quarterback Joe Burrow having an historically good passing season, the Cincinnati Bengals surprisingly missed out on a spot in the NFL playoff. That was due in large part to an absolutely disastrous defense that ranked 25th in the league in scoring defense.
However, even despite the awful defense, the Bengals had a chance to sneak into the playoffs on the final day of the regular season if the Jets beat the Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs took care of the Denver Broncos. The Jets held up their end, winning 32-20. But Kansas City rested all of its starters en route to a 38-0 blowout loss.
Some have since accused the Chiefs of throwing the game to avoid potentially having to play a Bengals team that won its final five games of the season. But Travis Kelce shot down that idea on the most recent episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason.
Cam Taylor-Britt Calls Out Travis Kelce Over Claim That Chiefs Didn’t Duck Bengals
“I ain’t scared of f—ing nobody,” Kelce said at the 21:40 mark of the above video. “I wanted them in the f—ing playoffs. I want to slay every dragon one by one, like Mortal Kombat. I don’t even want this to be like we play the lowest seed. Just give me the best teams.”
“AFC, NFC, give me all of them, Mortal Kombat-style,” Kelce added. “I’ll go through every f—ing one of them just giving them my best f–ing effort. I ain’t scared of a single soul, man.”
However, Bengals corner Cam Taylor-Britt wasn’t buying it. Taylor-Britt took to Instagram to respond to Kelce’s claim, insisting that Kelce was lying about wanting to take on all comers.

The Bengals did beat Kansas City 24-21 in Arrowhead in the 2021 AFC Championship Game as well as in the following regular season. But the Chiefs have one all three games between the two teams since. And Kelce and co. don’t seem like the type to back down from a challenge.
Next time, Taylor-Britt and his teammates might was to try winning a few more games and not relying on somebody else’s help to reach the playoffs.
