Coastal Carolina is offering the most unique deal in men’s and women’s college basketball. The Chanticleers are willing to eat the cost of a full season’s worth of tickets if their teams finish slightly above .500, combined.
There is not a lot of hope for either team to reach this mark individually, let alone combined.
Coastal’s promotion is called the ‘We Win, You Win’ guarantee. Any fan who purchases a season ticket package for the men’s and/or women’s basketball team(s) prior to the home opener on Nov. 3 will receive a full refund if the men’s and women’s basketball teams combine for 35 total wins.
Yes, you read that correctly. If the Chanticleers combine for 35 wins, the season tickets are free.
The men’s team will play 31 games during the 2024-25 regular season. The women’s team will play 29. That’s 60 games total.
Coastal Carolina’s college basketball teams do not need to win a conference championship. Nor do they need to make the NCAA Tournament. They simply need to win 58.3% of their games for tickets to be refunded.
While that might seem like free money, or in this case free tickets, it is going to be dicey.
The women’s team went 12-25 last year. The men’s team went 9-22.
If last season was this season, the ‘We Win, You Win’ guarantee would not have been activated. In fact, the promotion would not have hit in most of recent history. The Chanticleers are not very good.

Coastal Carolina’s men’s and women’s basketball teams combined for 35 wins just three times since 2010. Fans essentially have a 1-in-5 chance of getting free tickets if we look at the last 15 years. The odds are probably even lower considering the current state of both programs.
The men’s team ranked 13th of 14 teams in the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches Poll. The women’s team is 9th of 14.
It certainly seems like the latter will have to carry the former if season tickets are going to be refunded at the point of purchase come April!
