Colgate University senior Robbie Herzig played his final college golf tournament at his home course in New York over the Labor Day weekend. The entire Raiders lacrosse team pulled up to support their fellow student-athletes and went absolutely bonkers.

It was the epitome of guys being dudes!

Herzig, a First Team All-Patriot League player last season, will graduate in the spring with degrees in Economics and Chinese. He may choose to try and play professional golf, but his educational background will suit him well in whatever path he chooses.

In the meantime, Robbie Herzig is wrapping up his final year of eligibility and got out to a hot start in the first tournament of the year. The Raiders finished fifth overall behind their lowest scorer’s fourth-place result.

Colgate hosted the Alex Lagowitz Memorial at Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, N.Y. on Saturday and Sunday. Herzig’s sister Gabby, who is actually a golf reporter for The Athletic, pulled up to watch him play. She was not alone!

The Raiders have one of the better college lacrosse programs in the country and finished No. 27 overall in 2023. Their entire roster showed out in support of the golf team!

They soaked up the last few days of summer by catching some rays on the course.

Every time one of Colgate’s golfers hit a great shot or knocked down a putt, the lax team lost its collective mind. Some of them hit celebratory push-ups. All of them went crazy!

Here’s another look at their reaction to the fairly meaty putt:

You gotta love it! That right there is what college athletics are all about.

Herzig was on fire during the first round. He fired a 5-under 67 to finish atop the leaderboard on Saturday. Unfortunately, he went 1-over on Sunday to finish fourth.

Nevertheless, Colgate was pleased with its result and the golf team couldn’t have done it without the support from the laxers! They were electric.
