College Basketball Team Beats Tiny Bible College By 100 Points (!!) Behind 34 Turnovers, 18 Threes

Kansas City Roos College Basketball 100 points Calvary
University of Missouri - Kansas City / Francie Wilson

Monday’s college basketball game between the University of Missouri–Kansas City and Calvary University very quickly got out of hand. The Roos defeated the Nikao Warriors by 100 points.

If not clear by the score, it was not a fair fight between two schools separated by less than 16 miles.

Kansas City is the third-largest college in the nearby metropolitan area with an enrollment over 15,300. Known as the Roos, its basketball team competes in the Summit League. They recently lost to No. 7 Iowa State and No. 14 Creighton.

Calvary, a private Christian university, was established in 1932. It enrolls approximately 500 students — in total. Nikao (nik-ah’-o) is a greek word that means to conquer, prevail, and be victorious. The Nikao Warriors were not victorious on Monday. They did not conquer or prevail. They lost by 100 points.

Kansas City beat Calvary to a pulp!

As a member of the Midwest Christian College Conference, Calvary competes on the Division II level. Its schedule features opponents like Ozark Christian, Emmaus Bible, Spurgeon College, Southwest Advent, and Missouri S&T.

Needless to say, the levels of competition between the two schools are not on the same level. The same can be said for their rosters.

The Roos do not list a single player under six feet. Their biggest player is 6-foot-10. The Warriors have multiple players under six feet. Their biggest player is 6-foot-6.

Kansas City got out to a 64-9 lead at halftime and never looked back. It defeated Calvary 119-19. The home team did not show any mercy and was still getting hustle plays while up by more than 60 points.

Seven players finished with a double-digit point total for the Roos. Not one single player scored more than four points for the Warriors.

Kansas City finished with 61 points off turnovers. Calvary did not score one. The former went 44-of-81 from the field. The latter went 7-of-50.

The Warriors made five of their 29 three-point attempts. The Roos made 18 of 36.

Kansas City had 56 rebounds and 30 steals. Calvary had 27 total rebounds and four steals.

We could keep going, but you get the idea. It was a college basketball blowout in Missouri. A D-I team put a demoralizing beatdown on a D-II school.
