Welcome to the Arch Manning Era at Texas.
The highly touted quarterback with a famous family lineage appears to be the new QB1 for the Longhorns after head coach Steve Sarkisian benched former starter Quinn Ewers against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday.
Ewers went just 6-of-12 for 17 yards and an interception before being replaced in the second quarter with Texas trailing the Dawgs 20-0.
Manning started a pair of games earlier this season while Ewers recovered from an oblique injury. He went 41-of-60 for 573 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in those games.
But Sarkisian’s decision to turn to Manning against Georgia was the first real sign that Manning was handed the reigns to the Longhorns offense.
Unsurprisingly, the football world had a lot of thoughts to the nephew of Peyton and Eli finally getting his time to shine.
