Colorado Rockies Allow Milwaukee Brewers to Score Three Runs on a Wild Pitch

In what will go down as one of the worst defensive plays in baseball history, the Colorado Rockies allowed three Milwaukee Brewers to score on a wild pitch. It was the kind of performance that would make a Little League coach cancel the post-game ice cream trip.

The trouble started when Christian Friedrich uncorked an errant delivery with the bases loaded. The runner from third scored easily and the runner from second was able to trot in when catcher Michael McKenry’s throw sailed by Friedrich, who was covering home plate.

Then the Rockies pitcher completely forgot his surroundings by putting his head down and allowing the speedy Jean Segura to race home.

Talk about embarrassing. Gotta have your head on a swivel out there.
