Saturday’s college football game between Colorado and Baylor marks the first meeting between these two schools since 2010. Although there was not any bad blood before, there is now!

The Bears intentionally spoiled the Buffaloes’ plans for a whiteout in Boulder.

Baylor and Colorado have played 16 times, dating back to 1959. It is actually the latter who leads the former in the all-time series 7-9. However, the former has defeated the latter in three of the last four.

This year’s matchup will officially eliminate one of these two 2-1 teams from the College Football Playoff. That was to be expected anyway. More importantly, it will move one team closer to bowl eligibility while dropping the loser to .500 before they both have to run the gauntlet in the Big 12.

Needless to say, there are pretty huge implications for the Bears and the Buffs. They both need a win.

In an effort to give its crowd some extra juice, the home side is asking all of its fans to wear white. Folsom Field is hosting its first and only whiteout of the 2024 college football season.

To keep with the theme, Colorado proudly declared its intention to wear white helmets, white jerseys, white pants and white accessories on Friday morning— even though that uniform is typically reserved for the road.

There is only one problem. The visitors decided to ruin those plans.

Colorado’s whiteout is dead!

Baylor gets first right to white uniforms as the away team and decided to exercise its right!

It announced its decision to wear white helmets, white jerseys and white pants approximately six hours after the initial declaration of a whiteout.

If the Buffaloes wanted to prevent the Bears from wearing white, they would’ve had to reach an agreement prior to Saturday. An email might’ve fixed this problem before it became one.

It is unclear as to whether Colorado reached out to Baylor with plans of a whiteout. Either way, the home team will be forced to wear black/gold/grey (any color, really) uniforms while its entire fanbase wears white. The away team will get to match the crowd.
