Packers Had ‘Legitimate Trade Interest’ In Jonathan Taylor; Colts Asked For Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle

In addition to Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, the Colts also reportedly asked for top DT Christian Wilkins and starting OG Robert Hunt as part of a potential Jonathan Taylor trade.

And not only that, they said they want a 2nd round pick on top of one of the selected players, according to Dolphins reporter Omar Kelly.

The Colts basically wanted to send Jonathan Taylor for Jaylen Waddle+2nd, Christian Wilkins+2nd or Robert Hunt+2nd.

Colts held onto their running back, Jonathan Taylor, as the trade deadline passed on Tuesday. Now we learn more details about the near trade.

Recent revelations indicate that the Green Bay Packers, in addition to the Miami Dolphins, showed significant interest in acquiring Jonathan Taylor, creating unexpected trade discussions.

ESPN’s Stephen Holder reported that the Packers, despite having standout running backs in Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, were indeed interested in adding Jonathan Taylor to their roster.

This move has taken many by surprise, as the Packers’ backfield seemed well-stocked with talent.

Reportedly, the Colts also pretended “wild requests” to the Dolphins in exchange for Taylor. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald mentioned that the Colts asked for rising star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle as part of the deal for Taylor.

While the trades did not ultimately materialize, the Colts’ strong stance in keeping Taylor, along with the interest from both the Packers and the Dolphins, has added a layer of intrigue to the upcoming NFL season.
