The Washington Commanders continue to be one of the most dramatic teams in sports and it’s all thanks to the current owner Dan Snyder.
There were recent reports suggesting that he may sue the NFL over the transaction process. But the source could be the reason why the team is shutting it down.
According to the Washington Post, “Daniel Snyder is demanding the NFL and owners indemnify him against future legal liability if he sells the Commanders or he will sue.”
Mark Maske provides further detail about the latest report regarding Dan Snyder and the Commanders.
From our story… Daniel Snyder is “shutting out” Jeff Bezos in the sale process to this point, a source said, confirming reports by the @joshkosman and @KaplanSportsBiz and @BenStandig. It's not clear if that is a final decision or posturing as part of a negotiating strategy.

It’s important to note that Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post. He and Snyder have been butting heads for quite some time now. With that in mind, the Commanders released a statement denying these reports, per Ralph Vacchiano.
Statement from the Washington Commanders on the story below:
“The story posted tonight by the Washington Post regarding the transaction process involving the Washington Commanders is simply untrue.” https://t.co/eiuugzdqIW

At the end of the day, it’s difficult to know what’s going on in Washington. However, based on Dan Snyder’s track record, it’s hard to believe the Commanders’ statement regarding the issue.
We’ll see how it plays out. But something tells us the eventual sale of the team is still a long way down the road.
