Being a ref in bare-knuckle boxing is not a safe profession.
On Friday night, BKFC held an event at the Hollywood Hard Rock Casino that featured a bantamweight title fight between Alberto Blas and Keith Richardson.
During the fight, Blas knocked down Richardson, and the ref let him fight while he was still wobbly. The ref immediately ended the fight when he noticed Richardson couldn’t defend himself, and a clearly concussed Richardson reacted by trying to fight the ref in the ring.
Thankfully the ref was able to defend himself and didn’t take any big shots from Richardson.

After the fight, Richardson joked about the incident while talking to the media.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve taken an L, I’ll regroup and might take another shot at that ref. He didn’t want it, y’all saved him”
