Conner Jones charged at Parker Eatmon immediately following the conclusion of the CARS Tour race at Langley Speedway over the weekend. It is unclear as to what preceded the post-race scuffle but both drivers had to be forcibly restrained and separated by their crews.

They were throwing punches at each other with helmets on…

The CARS Tour is the premier late model racing tour in the Southeast with races all over the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia. Saturday’s race took place in Hampton, Virginia at the paved short track known as Langley Speedway. Jones finished 11th. Eatmon finished eighth.

I am not quite sure what went down but Jones was sitting eighth with one lap to go. Eatmon was running behind Jones as Jones went side-by-side with Kade Brown so maybe Eatmon dove underneath him to make it three-wide. Maybe he got into the back of him.

Whatever it was that happened caused Jones to lose multiple spots on the final lap of the race. Something obviously set him off because of what happened after the checkered flag.

Conner Jones (wearing the blue and white suit) charged over to Parker Eatmon as soon as he pulled back into his spot on the pits. Eatmon had yet to fully exit his vehicle when Jones arrived.

It did not take long for the situation to escalate. Jones put his hands on Eatmon. Eatmon swung right back. Fists started flying even though they still had their helmets on.

Both crews pretty quickly stepped in to separate the two drivers but the 19-year-old did not go down easy.

Conner Jones threw shade at Parker Eatmon during his post-race interview. His frustration stemmed from a minor incident at the end of the race that caused some minor (but not insignificant) damage to his car. Eatmon didn’t see it as a big deal. Here is what they had to say:

This incident will absolutely loom large over the remainder of the CARS Tour schedule. Drivers are not quick to forgive or forget. Maybe next time they will take their helmets off before they start throwing!
