It looks like there could be a competition brewing between 2 of the NFL’s best receivers.
A couple of weeks ago, Justin Jefferson revealed that he believes he could be the best receiver in the NFL by the end of the 2022 season and also that he already believes he is better than Cooper Kupp.
After rewriting the record books through two seasons, Justin Jefferson is hungry for more.
The Vikings wide receiver sat down with Complex to discuss the 2019 LSU national title team, LSU being WRU, becoming the best WR in the NFL and more.

Yesterday, Kupp responded to that assertion from Jefferson, telling NFL.com’s Grant Gordon, “I respect his opinion and I can also respectfully disagree.”

Kupp also added that he understands why Jefferson would say that and that it’s a necessary mindset to be successful in the NFL.
I would hope he would say that. I think that’s the beauty of this game. I think it speaks to the competitiveness of this league. If you’re not putting yourself as the best and you’re not working to be the best, then I’d be concerned about stepping on the field with you if you don’t feel like you’ve prepared to be the best player that you can be.
It’s hard to argue that Justin Jefferson is actually better than Cooper Kupp already with Kupp having just completed one of the best seasons by a receiver in NFL history. However, Jefferson could certainly make a compelling case after the 2022 season if he manages to put together a 3rd consecutive season with 1400 or more yards to begin his career.
