The 2026 Winter Olympics is currently underway in the Milan Cortina region of Italy. There are more than 3,000 athletes competing for 116 medals across 16 sports.
In all, 93 nations are represented. For 12 countries, it continues a long history in the Winter Games dating back to 1924.
Those 12 participants have sent athletes to every single Winter Olympics. Of that group, six have won a medal in all 24 appearances while just one has earned gold each trip.
Which countries have won a medal at every Winter Olympics?
The names on this list may or may not surprise. Two countries are located in North America, while three hail from Nordic region.
The final nation to make the cut resides in Central Europe. Here, we’ll take a look at all six in alphabetical order to give a rundown of Olympic history at the Winter Games.

The country has one distinction from the rest, however. It is the lone nation on this list, and in history, to win gold at each Winter Games.

Like each country mentioned prior in these rankings, the United States has already medaled in Italy to extend their current streak.
