Jerry Jones refuses to use a curtain to block the sun during games at AT&T Stadium, which directly caused problems for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. However, the organization used a screen to block the sun from Mike McCarthy’s face during a press conference at the Star on Monday.
You can’t make this stuff up.
If you are not yet familiar with the scene in Arlington, the problem is very simple. Multiple large sets of windows in the end zone create a brutal glare in the late afternoon. Sun typically shines down onto the field of play during the second half.

Players are often unable to see downfield because of the light.

AT&T Stadium opened in 2009. This has been an issue for 15 years but Jones refuses to do anything about it. He refuses to use curtains during NFL games, even though those windows are typically covered for non-sporting events like concerts.
On Sunday, during Dallas’ blowout loss to Philadelphia, the sun had a direct impact on the outcome. CeeDee Lamb was unable to catch a wide-open touchdown because the sun blinded his eyes. The 25-year-old wide receiver said after the game that he would love if curtains were installed to block the light.
Even though the players are begging for a very simple solution, Jones refuses to adhere to their requests. The sun will continue to wreak havoc on his team whenever it is playing toward that end zone whether they like it or not. And they don’t like it…
Less than 24 hours after Lamb missed out on an easy six points, head coach Mike McCarthy held his weekly Monday afternoon press conference at the Star. The podium was set up right next to some windows. Those windows are not covered by a curtain so the sun shined right through them.
Instead of blinding McCarthy while he spoke to reporters, the team set up a giant sun shield.

So there’s a shield to block the sun from Mike McCarthy’s face.
Novel concept. pic.twitter.com/BKxp0Wn0I3
It did not allow the sun to reach the head coach.
The Cowboys won’t block the sun at @ATTStadium but they will block it at the Star to keep it out the eyes of head coach Mike McCarthy.

Meanwhile, Jerry Jones refuses to install a similar shade at AT&T Stadium— where the sun is actually causing real problems for his team. Truly hilarious.
