The Dallas Mavericks tried to make a gesture on social media to support the Uvalde shooting victims who lost their lives last week but people on Twitter weren’t feeling it.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Mavericks and the Dallas Morning News stayed silent for 21 minutes on social media to honor the children and teachers who lost their lives during the Uvalde school shooting.

The Mavs’ gesture rang hollow for many who blasted the multi-billion corporation over the tweet.

An NBA team didn’t tweet for 21 minutes. Gun violence is now solved forever.

A 21 minute Twitter break might be one of the WORST displays of honoring victims I’ve seen in quite some time. I mean. Wow. This took no effort. Social media team got a full protest in on their 30 minute lunch break. https://t.co/eRgPpETW8M

The social media admin put their phone down while they drove to the grocery store and called it activism. https://t.co/7N5EcNb0pD
