Five-star pass catcher Dallas Wilson is requesting to be released from his Letter of Intent with the University of Oregon. The news comes just two weeks after the wideout signed in the Ducks’ second-ranked recruiting class.
Wilson was a headliner in the group, representing one of four Top 30 players to ink their signatures with Dan Lanning. He’s apparently had a change of heart late in the process.
A return home looks to be in the cards for Wilson, who’s originally from Tampa. Many suspect that he’ll enroll at Florida if granted his release.
The Gators were heavily involved in his recruitment, though they failed to flip him from his year-long commitment to the Ducks during the early signing period. It appears those efforts will now pay off after the fact.

Dallas Wilson would immediately become the top player in Florida’s 2025 cycle, jumping four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III. Interestingly enough, Brown’s father is Wilson’s agent.
The flip coincides with major NIL news for the Gators. It was announced on Thursday that two donors have ponied up a combined $1 million commitment with hopes that the rest of the Florida fanbase can match the donation.
That’s not to say Oregon is at a disadvantage in terms of NIL support. It’s been rumored that mega-booster Phil Knight is providing unlimited funds to fuel a national title run, which could be seen this postseason.
It’s possible, however, that Florida was able to match Oregon’s offer for Dallas Wilson. That, paired with the lure of being closer to home, might’ve been enough to change the wideout’s mind.
If it does work out as the experts predict, Wilson’s departure will be a major hit to the Oregon class. His exit could prompt the Ducks to pursue another wideout in the transfer portal. For the Gators, it would be a huge recruiting win with an in-state star.
