Dan Campbell Risks FCC Fine While Downplaying Lions Loss During Fiery Radio Interview

Dan Campbell has played an instrumental role in the dramatic turnaround the Lions have experienced since he was hired in 2021, and he’s created a culture that reflects his reputation for being the Ultimate Football Guy. The team did suffer more than a few setbacks during Sunday’s loss to the Bills, but he doesn’t seem too worried based on what he had to say during a viral interview on Tuesday.

The Detroit Lions clinched a playoff spot when they extended their winning streak to 11 games with a win over the Packers on December 6th, and the team was obviously hoping to firm up its position in its quest for the top seed in the NFC with a win over the Bills on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the Lions came up short in a 48-42 loss where RB David Montgomery, DT Alim McNeill, and CBs Carlton Davis III and Khalil Dorsey all suffered what appear to be season-ending injuries, and the once immaculate vibes in Detroit became slightly less pristine in the wake of the contest.

With that said, the Lions are still sitting at 12-2 and have plenty of reasons to be optimistic based on how they’ve looked this year in spite of the setbacks that will undoubtedly be a potential issue worth keeping an eye on as we near the end of the regular season.

However, if you thought Dan Campbell would spend the week leading up to Detroit’s showdown with the Bears licking his wounds, you obviously don’t know much about Dan Campbell.

On Tuesday, the skipper got the chance to address what transpired against Buffalo while speaking with 97.1 The Ticket, and he could not have cared less about the potential FCC fines that come with dropping an F-bomb on the radio while putting things in perspective as only he can.

I would have pegged Campbell as a ribeye guy, but he deployed a different cut of beef with the analogy he used to addres the end of the team’s winning streak, saying:

“You win 11 in a row, and you lose, and then the sky falls…What happens is, you get used to eating filet—everything’s good, life’s good—but you forgot what it was like when you had nothing and you ate your f—king moldy bread.

It was just fine and it gave you everything you needed, and sometimes you gotta get punched in the mouth and remember what it used to be like to really appreciate where you are—and we’ll do that.

We’ve got a bad taste in our mouth. We got kicked around the other day. We lost a few guys, and you know what? It’s exactly what we needed.”

Campbell went on to say he’s more than confident in the other players who will need to step up to fill the voids that formed in the wake of the aforementioned injuries and said he could not care less about how the team ends up getting a win as long as they’re able to walk away with a victory.

We’ll have to wait and see if he’s able to back up this promise, but if I’m a Lions fan, I’m willing to run through a wall for Dan Campbell based on what he had to say here.
